This could mess up her hall of fame status since she will not qualify for the 10 year rule no matter how good she was or how many records she broke. She had the world by the tail but after watchiong her over the last 10 months does not seem interested. The new marriage and wanting a family could do that i guess. Had the opportunity to meet her at the Guadalajara Country Club in 2002 I believe. Just finished playing and we were leaving the 18th hole when my coworker pointed her out on the practice putting green and introduced her to us.
He told me she was joining the LPGA tour and that the world would soon know how good she was. He, being Mexican, was extremely proud of her. Watched her putt for about 5 minutes and in around 20 attempts never saw her miss. She smiled almost apologetically. Very hunble. Great family my friend told me.
I rooted for her ever since and many some money betting on her, especially when Sorenstam was favored but nearing the end of her career. Lately, since her marriage it did seem as if golf was no longer her number one priority. So nice to see a true role model as a person. She is dedicated to family and not to money from what I know of her. Congratulations on a great, if short, career!

I'm surprised she's retiring so soon after being numbre 1. I expected her to take more of the Sorenson rout and put off maybe 4 or 5 more years. I guess when that maternal extinct kicks in it's no stopping it. But I agree with VD. I think she'll be back in 2 or 3 years. or however long it takes to spit out a couple kids.
Yes he has plenty of money to go around. She may get tired of chasing pre teens around the house though. He has three from another marriage.Have a friend from Mexico that is very good friend's of the president ofCorona beer and he said he was told by the family that he knows very well that it may not be permanent.
