Ok so if I throw two horseshoes and both of them are within 6 inches, lets say one is within an inch and one at 3 inches. My opponent throws one within 2 inches and one at 2.5 inches what are the points if we are playing the cancellation method. This situation is not really clearly defined. I will say how I have been playing my whole life, but just curious how you guys would score it.

1-0. No clue on the cancellation method you are talking about.

I score it 1 for you 0 for opponent.

Ok, some of my friends play it where if I have two points in count and 1 of them is the closest I get 2 even though my 2nd one isn't as close as my opponents.

Interesting
I've got to run so I can't get too much into details but I think this should give you the idea.

I have always known it to be played like this.
The game goes to 21
5 points for ringer
3 points for leaner
1 point closest within a horseshoes length.
The first player(leader-whoever scored the last point)throws both shoes first.
Any points he has are still open till the second player throws
Points are canceled out if the opponent takes the point by getting closer or if both are the same distance.Ringers are also canceled if topped and the same rule applies to leaners.
I've always known it like this,I guess it is a regional thing.:toast:

Wow, I'd have 21 in like 4-6 turns.
