A-Rod crossed over the mound area on the way back to the dugout, and Braden cried about it like a nanci-boi.

From the post game interview:

"For him to not understand the baseball etiquette of running across that pitcher’s mound is right next to terrible and unexcusable. You know, I’m not a speck on his radar, and that’s fine, but he will know I was out there, and he will know to not do that again. Because there will be repercussions if it happens again." - Dallas Braden

ARod's response:

He just told me to get off his mound," Rodriguez said. "I was a little surprised. I’d never quite heard that. Especially from a guy that has a handful of wins in his career." - Alex Rodriguez

More from Braden:

"I don’t care if I’m Cy Young or the 25th man on the roster, if I’ve got the ball in my hand and I’m on that mound, that’s my mound," Braden said. "… He ran across the pitcher’s mound foot on my rubber. No, not happening. We’re not the door mat anymore." - Dallas Braden

What? Braden was totally in the right here. ARod is a douchebag who has no respect for anyone. I mean, the dude literally has two commissioned paintings of himself as a centaur. I don't know if you can be more of a tool.

It sounds like arod is thinking he's bigger than the sport that made him famous. Maybe he is but this sort of behavior just shows his character.

Arod is an ass. What's he's saying is that he doesn't need to respect Braden because he doesn't have enough wins to qualify for respect. SCREW YOU AROD!!

Arod has lied about steroids, cheated on the game, cheated and humiliated his wife, and let's not forget about the idiot yelling out "I GOT IT" while running the bases against Toronto a few years ago, and trying to karate chop the ball out of that Red Sox players hand during that playoff game a few years ago.

HE'S A JERK. I hope Braden beans him next time they face each other and then yells, "Does that feel the same when it's thrown by a pitcher who doesn't have many wins - big mouth?"

I am not a huge ARod fan either but Braden went a little over the top (during the game).
ARod was stupid for saying that about him after the game.

I don't think Braden went over the top at all.

Anyone who has played baseball knows there are certain "unwritten rules" that you just don't break that go with the tradition and etiquette of the game. Eg: You purposely hit my guy, then expect your guy to get hit in next half of the inning. It is well known that you do not run over a pitcher's mound during the game. Even if A-Rod didn't know, he showed no remorse for disrespecting Braden after the fact - he even made it look like he is not worth respecting by referring to Braden as a pitcher with only a handful of wins.

I never had a problem with A-Rod in the past, but his actions here lack in class and sportsmanship.

If Braden had half a brain, he would have kept his nancy-boi shut and wait until July 5,6,7 when Yanks visit Oakland for the rematch series when he could retaliate if he chose to, but now since he opened his fat mouth, Braden has drawn attention to the matter, the umps will toss his ass on any pitch close to A-Rod.

Been watching the great game for 30 years and never heard of this unwritten rule. He even said that after the game. He had no idea what he was talking about.

Being a former pitcher (played up to Class A advanced) I understand why Braden is upset but there are PLENTY of other things that would tick me off more. Batter calling time while I'm in my motion, batters jumping out of the box on a pitch on the inside corner trying to get a ball call, runner on second stealing signs (happens all the time), trash talking from base runners during your pitch, and many many more. Either Braden has some major MAJOR anger issues or he is an idiot, either way he had a right to be upset but throwing a tantrum on the field makes him look stupid and makes his beef less credible. Guys get beaned on purpose with high 90s gas and don't get as pissed as Braden got, somebody walked on his mound and he acted like George Brett during the pine tar incident. Grow up Braden, be a man not a 10 year old little leaguer who got locked in the portapotty by his teammates.

I think it is deeper than that. Players just do not respect A Rod on a personal or professional level plain and simple. Just the little things that he does while he's on the bags, ie clap his hands on a fly ball and trying to knock the ball out of a glove on a play at first base. Some players just expect a little more class from the top tier players in the league. With that being said, I love seeing this type of shit. Whatever can make the game/series more exciting I'm all for.

A-Rod was wrong here, and showing disrespect after the games doesn't help his cause.

What did Braden do?? He shouted to him..." Stay off the mound, stay off the MFing mound". HArdly over the top stuff. Throwing his glove in the dugout, not on the field, can be attributed to being angry in the heat of a ballgame.

ARod is a GR1 douche. Yelling at infielders trying to catch a pop-up, hacking at a pitchers glove while being tagged. This is bush league behavior, let alone coming from a HOF talent.

Players routinely return to first base after rounding second on a foul ball. How many have you seen run across the pitchers mound?? Not many, if any. Its something you just don't do.

Keep in mind, the A's had lost the previous 2 games. They didn't want to be swept at home, and played with a bit of an edge. Nothing wrong with showing a bit of emotion during a game, especially when you feel as though you are being dissed. Especially in your home park.
