San Diego Padres
-The Padres continued their winning ways, taking their 7th straight with a 10-4 victory over the Reds last night. The 7-game winning streak is their longest since winning 10 straight from 5/15-5/25/09.
-SP Kevin Correia once again was the beneficiary of offensive support, as San Diego scored 10 runs in the first 4 innings last night. In his 23 innings of work this season, he has received 29 runs of support.
-Dating back to July 28, 2009, the club has a 47-31 record (.603) that ranks 2nd among NL clubs.
-With 18 stolen bases on the year, the Padres rank 1st in the NL. Seven different Padres have stolen at leastd one base, with Chase Headley leading the way with 5.

Pittsburgh Pirates
-The Pirates have dropped 4 straight games after winning 3 in a row. They have gone 4-5 in their last 9 games.
-Tonight RHP Chris Jakubauskas will become the 7th different pitcher to start for the Pirates this year. The last time the Pirates used 7 different starting pitchers in the first 17 games of the year was 2001.
-CF Andrew McCutchen has gone 6-for-14 (.429) against lefthanders this season. Since breaking into the big leagues last year, Andrew is hitting .325 with 4HR and 14RBI against southpaws.

Atlanta Braves
-The Braves have dropped a season-high 3 straight games to even their record at 8-8 on the year. During the 3-game losing streak they have been outscored 15-5 and last night they committed a season-high 4 errors. Atlanta ranks 25th in the majors in team batting average (.228), including 22nd versus left-handed pitchers (.223) and 28th against right-handers (.230).
-Four current Braves own batting averages of .350 or higher at Citi Field last season, including Omar Infante (.417), Martin Prado (.391), Matt Diaz (.364) and Yunel Escobar (.361).
