what is going on?
I have been able to finalize the Date, Venue and sign-up information for Rx Bash 2010..Unfortunatley on May19th our last room of our substantial sized block of rooms was taken. Please see Post #194 for details on how to get on a standby list.
Before I get into the details, I want to explain a little bit about this years Bash. After the last 5 straight Bashes being basically the same Rx Management along with myself and Moderator Sportsavant decided it was time to change the itinerary somewhat this year.
Our main goal is to make sure that you our posters along with your guests that attend this year's Bash get to have as much fun and camaraderie between yourselves as possible..With that said here are the details you will need to know in order to obtain a comped room for two nights.
when is the event taken place?
This year our Bash will be on Friday August 27th at the beautiful Planet Hollywood. The Rx has reserved a beautiful facility on that night to host a fun filled party that all Rxers and their guests who qualify are invited to attend..
how do i qualify for a room?
To qualify you must have a join date of no later than March 1st 2010 and at least 50 Posts as of May 1st 2010.
Each poster and his or her guest will be comped two nights at The Planet Hollywood. We are allowing posters to choose any two nights beginning Wednesday night August 25th through Sunday night August 29th. (Your two nights do not have to be consecutive, just two nights within the dates posted above) the extra nights are there for posters who may need some flexibility when selecting what dates they want to spend at The Planet Hollywood. I will also work on an affordable rate for posters who may want to stay extra nights and post it ASAP.
Rooms are limited so I need to ask Las Vegas area residents to refrain from taking a room right away. If I have some left by the 1st of August which is the deadline for requesting a room I will open them to Las Vegas Locals. I will post something for you prior to August 1st if it looks like I will have some rooms available.
Rooms will be issued on a first come first serve basis. I will post a latest date you can cancel as soon as I have one for anyone who for whatever reason has to cancel after making their reservation..
Other notes and facts:
Briefly I would like to apologize to SBR for the slight overlap with with their event but it could not be helped as we had chosen Friday August 27th for our principle event early this year. We have no objection to posters attending both events. Feel free to take advantage of your Planet Hollywood comp rooms to extend your stay in Las Vegas if you are attending the SBR event. We only ask that you attend our festivities on Friday night August 27th. which will be filled with great fun including a ton of giveaways.
The Bash this year will not be a full course buffet dinner but instead a cocktail party with an extensive array of hors d'oeuvres and of course a totally open bar for your enjoyment. The Rx. along with SportsOptions and possibly other sponsors will be raffle-ling off a substantial number of gifts, some of the giveaways will be cash while others will be funded accounts at some of our sponsors along with Rx Polo and T-shirts and more. Only posters will be eligible to participate in the raffle, not guests.
I will announce the exact time and location of the party sometime in the next week or so.
This Bash is a great opportunity for you posters to get together and enjoy Las Vegas at your own leisure. Naturally the Planet Hollywood Sportsbook will be the place to congregate and meet up with each other and make your own plans to enjoy the town.
Right now the important thing for anyone wanting to attend this year's Bash that needs a room is to fill out the form in post #2. I will follow up with any additional information or developments in this thread as soon as I am informed of anything you should know.
Feel free to ask questions in this thread, either Sportsavant or myself will answer them for you as quickly as possible. There is no need to sign-up in in this thread, your filled out form in post #2 will do that for you. Rxers not requesting a room need only to show up at Planet Hollywood on the evening of Friday August 27th. There will be a reception table to greet you.
Location inside The Planet Hollywood and the time of the event will be announced shortly.
