A semi closet? The wife and some close friends know. My extended family and other friends don't know as they would probably be very negative towards my betting on sports.

I have a friend that has Won Millions over the years ( about 45+ years )
and his Sister thinks he is Evil.
Also thinks that he is in the Mob, because he gambles, and wants Nothing to do with Him !

Gambling will always be looked upon by society as a terrible thing for someone to do. It has never been accepted. That's why I come on here because we all have that one thing in common. People that don't bet on sports will never understand what and why we do what we do.

An accurate statement but not only that the idea of the "degenerate gambler" has been so firmly implanted into the minds of the masses when they think of a sports gambler that's all that comes to mind.

i used to be.., but one they they caught me on the phone.., and after that.., i tried to explain.., they didnt understand.., so one day i told them to leave home if they dont like it.., at the end, they have all they need because of me.., so.., if they want to complain.., do it somewhere else....

Supposedly my Dad had a gambling problem but that's just my Mom's speculation. I tell her I gamble a little bit in Vegas but not in sports.

She caught me looking at theRX at her house when I was visiting and she said "you don't gamble on that do you"? Of course I lied to her because I didn't want her to criticise me like she has done on so many other things before.

For me personally, If it ever came to the point I couldn't tell anyone how often/much I was gambling then it would be a problem. My only problem is my impulsive husband trying to encourage me to make bad bets. "Put it all on this or that" Idiot!
