Two time NBA MVP and only the third guard ever to win the award back-to-back. Thoughts?

was he always a liability on defense or is his defense just declining with age?

not until he helps his team win something....

So does that mean Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Gary Payton, John Stockton all are not great, there teams won nothing.

The adage about winning in sports is overrated for one primary reason, you can't help it if your teammates suck!

Since 1980, 28 of the 30 NBA Champions have had at least 2 HOF players on their rosters when winning the title.

Only teams that didn't were the 1994 Rockets and 2003 Pistons. 1995 Rockets added Clyde.

Little more than a matter of perspective. If I were to be selective, have to say the cutoff for "one of the greatest" would be with Stockton and give it a no

Close to the bottom of the top 10

in my lifetime of watching NBA (just made 30)

I'd put Nash, Magic, and Stockton as my top 3 (any order)

Guys like Payton, Isiah, and Kidd are 2nd tier....

But I will say this about Kidd....he has always been a good true pt guard....and as he got older he has adapted the game to both what his body can handle, and how the NBA has changed....he was a tough nosed defeneder/passer when that was what the NBA was......NOW he is a deadly sharp shooter in the age of 3 pointers.

The thing about Nash is he can score 30 a night if he wanted. There are not many great POINT guards that can score 30 a night and still get the 10 assists a game.

Magic
Oscar
Cousey

Nash

Stockton
Isiah
Deron Wiiliams
Cris Paul

Kidd is a fucking joke for all-time guards
