I am planning on putting a Vegas trip together real soon with a Thursday arrival and Monday departure. I would liketo stay at Caesers Palace but their room rates seem kind of extreme considering the room is the last place that I would be. Does anybody know a good site to book a deal for rooms at Caesers or have any recommended nice hotels with a decent price range? I grew out of the entry level casinos like Excalibur and the Luxor. Kinda want to stay some place real nice time.

How do some of you posters rate the Vegas hotels on the strip anyways? I was under the impression that the top tier ones were like Belllagio, Mandalay Bay, Venetian and Wynn. Does Ceasers rank as a top tier hotel also? I figured the second tier ones were like Paris, NYNY, Planet Hollywood, MGM and Palms and the middle tier ones were Luxor and Treasure Island. While the crack house hotels were Excalibur Circus Circus, Riveria and Stratosphere.

Be careful with Caesars Palace. One of their towers has terrible rooms.....I believe its called "classic rooms" in the Roman Tower. You dont want to end up in one of those rooms.
Overall, Caesars is about equivalent to Mandalay Bay, but a small notch below Bellagio, Venetian and Wynn.

The Problem will be Time Frame.....You are now going into the High Season and some of these places ( Unless you are Comp ) will cost you a nice penny......Moreso because you have Weekend nights

If you want to stay somewhere really nice, you have the bellagio, wynn/encore, and the Venetian/palazzo. I have not seen aria yet, but have heard good things. IMO the bellagio is the class of the strip - I love the place. But with that being said, I am staying at the Venetian June 2nd thru 7th so I will see how it compares. When are you thinking about going?

If you want nice and are willing to pay for it Wynn/Encore and
Pallazzo /Venetian are your best bets.

I would scratch Bellagio from that list.Ever since MGM took over the quality in the standard rooms has been on a slow and steady decline. It might be a nice place to walk around in and gamble but I wouldn't pay to stay there in a standard room.

I stayed at Caesars on a comp in their "worst" tower last year.Room was big, but the furniture was a little worn.Bathroom had a small LCD TV mounted next to the main sink.
The room was fine for me,elevators were very fast, and it was easy to get in and out of.But if you were expecting "Caesars style luxury" you would be disappointed with one of these rooms.
Depending on what tower you're in, you can have some VERY long walks in Caesars.

I think the next level up the room food chain there from the bottom is the Forum Tower.
If I remember correctly those were remodeled with LCD TVs, new furniture etc.

What are some good hotels to recommend that aren't to pricey but not all ghetto? I don't mind paying a decent dollar but $400 a night for a standard room in a top tier hotel with a 27 inch TV is not what I am looking for.

Our bill was approx 300 a night in a venetian luxury suite. You can check them out online; the room looks really nice to me. Wife's company is paying for it though, if I am going to vegas as usual I normally stay in a comped bellagio room - I think they run about the same price. Last time I checked Aria was about 200$ a night and it looked pretty cool.

Check the Mirage, I would say you can get a nice room during the Weekend for Under $250...pay about $150 or so for Weekday

I've stayed at Encore and Venetian and liked Venetian much better. Both are top rated hotels but I liked the room at Venetian much better. For mid level type hotels planet hollywood is nice also.

Mirage,Mandalay Bay and MGM might fit what you're looking for.
I don't know what you're preferences are, but another possibilty is Trump's tower. If you don't mind a hotel without a casino you can get an entry level suite there for around $150 a night on the weekends. It's a nice place.

My recommended hotel is the Golden Nugget. Fremont Street is the best. The light show is amazing downtown. It's also significantly cheaper. A real Vegas experience. You can actually play table games and not feel like you're being ripped off with low minimums and decent payouts.

If you're staying on the strip, want a good location but not the price, look at the Flamingo. Their pool is absolutely amazing. Sportsbook allows you to bet Caesar's numbers (some of the easiest to beat in Vegas). Perfect location. Cheap eats being walkable to Bill's Gambling Hall and Ellis Island (best cheap eat in the city). Rates for weekdays were only $40/night.

I see no reason to stay at an expensive hotel. You can gamble wherever you want. You can hang out wherever you want. Find a place that has the location you are looking for that's cheap. All you need is a bed and a room to keep your crap.

Check out the LVHilton. Nice book, nice rooms. location is off the strip, but they have the Mono-rail that will get you there, or you can take a short walk over to riveria and cut through the casino to get to the strip.

I like it here, cuase it is just far enough from all the hustle and bustle of the strip.

IMO MGM has everyting, and a lot of it. They have luxurious villas out back all they way down to the bargain basement rooms. MGM is a prime example of why bigger is not always better.

Excalibur is not that bad. Just has an abundance of munchkins running around. Not bad enough to be compared with the likes of Circus Circus, Riviera, or Sahara.

What is a good mid-level place? Rio is nice but obviously not on the strip. Paris is good. Mirage is nice.

Just an fyi. Remember to include the "resort fee" when comparing prices.

I am a Las Vegas local so I have stayed at almost every Hotel at one time or the other. I loved to stay at the old Barbary Coast which is the best location on the strip being right across the street from Ballys and Caesars. Harrahs now owns the place and it's now called Bill's Gambling Hall . Give them a call. Their rooms are pretty decent and the place is small and cozy. You don't have to gamble there as all the big draws are real close because of the great location.

Just stayed at Bills for two nights comped during March madness and was a very nice room.

Clean large flat screen all though all I did was sleep there.

Also stayed across the street from at The Jockey Club which is a time share and was also real nice.

Internet in the lobby for all to use even if your just walking off the street......LOL

Both are in the heart of the strip, and Bills had great happy hours.

Oh and the best part about Bills there is only one elevator,no musical chairs.
