J, so 2* on the ML and 1* on the RL correct? Fir those of us that only get 1.5 do we still roll as a 1.88?

and

That makes it a 3* play.
If you are betting $100 on it ... then it would be:
$62.96 on money line (-170)
$37.04 on run line (+135)

I had a feeling it was going to be houston, being in the area I am sure you know the problems the reds have had with Oswalt. Although Oswalt did have 4 no decisions vs the reds last year, 3 of which the reds won.

That said, I think I still take a flyer on HOU

With these calcs you are risking 3 units to win 2.87 units. I know you normally would risk 3.xx units to win 3 units. Does anyone know the calcs so it pays out 3 units instead of 2.87 units?

Then again a couple of weeks ago we were getting plus money taking Oswalt so a big number makes me think were going to be ok. I know those were road games but when was the last time you got plus money on Oswalt? Let's just hope them bats are popping the Reds are ready to leave.

It's just math....

For example if Braggs is saying

1.88 ML and 1.12 RL....

Say 1 unit if $50 bux for you...

so for ML it would be 1.88 x 50= $94, so you would do to WIN 94 on your betting site, can't tell you the exact amount cause I don't know your line, but every site has to "risk" or "win" as an option so just use to win 94 ml.

Then for RL it would be 1.12x 50= $56 and for this it would be risking 56 to win whatever since its + money.

Hope this helps explain it.

anyone betting the Astros simply based on Oswalt's 23-1 record against Cincy is silly

Oswalt isnt what he used to be
the Houston offense isnt what it used to be
this Cincy team bears little resemblance to past Reds teams

Houston is on a little streak (7-3 last 10) after starting out so horribly but Cincy winners of their last 3.

no advocating a side here and not saying Houston is the wrong side. the "Oswalt owns Cincy" reasoning is flawed IMO though

Arroyo is 3-0 last 3 starts against Houston with ERA under 2. But he is the sucks this year
