Are smartphones causing layoffs at offshore book call centers?

I'm getting a smartphone when my current contract runs out in a month. I call in a ton of wagers over the phone currently, and my guess is that I'll never make another one. It seems like everyone is getting a phone with internet capability. Is there anyone that still calls in wagers? I would think that this would have a huge impact on call volume.

There is a huge block of Offshore players who are not new high tech friendly and still rely on the old fashioned telephone...

I assume as years go by your theory will become more accurate as younger high tech savvy players replace older ones who are not willing to learn new methods such as using a smartphone as they grow older.

There are some you can use and some you cannot, I can use Bet Jamacia with no problem but Bookmaker does not support the IPHONE.

So check which books before thinking you can use there Platform for everything

download opera mini from the app store (free) and you can visit any site and it will work.

Bookmaker does not working using safari because it is a flash based website. With opera mini it will work.

I will be honest, in all my years of gambling, I have only "called in" my bets to offshore about 5 times. (Different story for local bookies)

I have always used my phone internet or a computer.....I remember 8 or 9 years ago with my buddy (shdw02) on a golf vacation trying to get cell phone signal to connect our laptop to the internet (was HUGE technology back then) to get some NFL wildcard weekend bets in.

I used to exclusively use my mobile phone to place wagers at Bookmaker -- I believe the address is wap.bookmaker.com. I think you should be able to use any phone at that address.

I've often wondered how many other sites allow you to use your mobile because there doesn't seem to be a heckuva lot of them. You would think all the big books would have that capability but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Droid is one of a few Android phones that are supposed to get Flash 10.1 sometime this year.
