if I lose this play I am done posting plays for a bit. would feel horrible if people are indeed tailing and I'm losing people money on this cold streak but I can't ignore these #'s right now.

on the road Arizona starters ERA is 5.10 while the bullpen is 6.72! Just what the slumping Cubs line up needs to break out of this funk. They put up 5 runs today which a great sign but gave up 13.

I doubt that happens again with Wells on the mound, who has been a pleasant suprise and probably their most consistent starter this year. 2.49 ERA and 1.34 WHIP, solid.

Only worry here, is Arizona is hitting a staggering .282 vs Righties in their last 10 games, so depending on how the wind is blowing out, this could be an absolute slug fest and with those starter and bullpen #'s I posted above for Arizona I have to ride the Cubbies here.

I would agree with you, but we are looking at another wind game Friday. Cubs have no offense right now. Even with Wells pitching, i cant lay chalk with them.

wouldnt the wind blowing out hard yesterday and the cubs only scoring 5 be a BAD thing and not a good sign?

the wind blows out again today which can be a great equalizer for teams. just get a good fly ball and you have a homer. laying 160 in situations like that is scary

got to take baby steps. not going to get it all back at once. yes, with those winds, would have been nice to see 8 or 9 runs but 5 isn't anything to sneeze at. They were slumping, HARD. Leaving a ton of runners on base. It's a foot in the right direction. Like I said, with those Arizona starter and bullpen ERA's I'm comfortable with the chalk.
