But he is just painfully bad now. It wont get better. He is either getting old, or older than this Dominican official age or just a bad relic contract of the roids age. Or multiples of these problems.

But he is just awful now. .143 average 21 K's in 56 at bats. They cannot keep starting him. Well they can, but they should not.

Like I said for years and years also, MANNY gave him great protection.

Rays are the nuts they are not going away, skankies clearly have a good team, Red Sox have no room for error if they want to try and make the playoffs.

Papi is the man, but it is not like he is hitting the ball hard and unlucky, he just is missing everything.

Yeah, Ortiz was not happy when Manny left the Sox. Big Papi had a chance to give the Sox the lead late in the game last night and he goes down swinging at a bad pitch.

Manny wouldnt play anymore in Boston. Made no sense but it was his decision. Theo hands were tied on that one.

Agree Fishhead how much Manny helped Red Sox. But I don't disagree with trading him.

Red Sox badly wanted Orioles free agent Mike Mussina and threw megabucks at him only to be outgreased by the skankies. Veterans went there for the money and to win a ring.

It was Curt Schilling who changed that. skanks wanted him, he decided why cant Boston win? screw history.

The megabucks Red Sox threw at Mussina and lost the bidding war to the skanks ended up going to another free agent, Manny Ramirez. Which worked out.

They paid him a lot of money, but he stayed healthy and hit. Red Sox won 2 rings with Manny hitting cleanup and Papi hitting 3rd.

As bad as Ortiz has been this year (and that is very bad),
Mark Teixeira has been worse.

Like other people who have actually researched the issue, whoever is hitting behind the batter does very little to change a batters effectiveness

Give Ramirez credit for his own hits and homeruns; give Ortiz full credit for his own hits and homeruns. Looking at it any other way is not understanding how the sport works

His OPS against right-handed pitchers is still higher than $125 million Ryan Howard's overall OPS

Ortiz may still have some value left

I think Tex will end up OK, doubtful on Ortiz....but he ( Ortiz) started Shitty last year, and finished not too awful....I'd say he's done....Tex can at least field 1B as a gold glove type....I think he starts slow too ?

A-Rod not tearing it up, but Yanks doing good.

The 5th starter ( Vazquez) looks to be the soft spot to me ?

Unlike Ortiz, Tex plays gold glove caliber defense.

I know he's a DH, the point I was trying to make is as bad as Tex has been at the plate, he contributes big time to the team with his glove.

Tex is a slow starter, I think he will be there in like August, but Ortiz wont be.
