a is a part time shift.
What gtc08 listed are actual working hours, both are 40 exact hours a week without any break, though. Most places would include a 30 minute or a hour built-in time for meal breaks, right? I mean, it's not common to see a shit only showing 8 hours (for 5 days a week) or 10 hours (for 4 days a week), is it?

I work 6am-3pm M-F (with 1 hour mandatory break, which I don't use, LOL).

The Fri to Mon 7:30pm-5:30pm shift cannot be efficient for people who have children. So I think gtc08 will get a lot of various responses based on the poster's OWN experience.

Evidently, I'm taking "B" as I have a 7-year-old step-daughter (in school) and 1-year-old twins that will eventually go to school during the day on M-F.

Much prefer A

If you consider 40 hours part time, than having three days off makes it much easier to find a second job

As much as I like my Saturday's and Sunday's, unless they're paying a lot, inflexible time-off policy is going to be a dealbreaker no matter what

And if they are paying me a lot, I'll enjoy the money more with more days off

Depending on how they workout the schedule, one perk to the 7-3 shift might be being able to pick up 2.5 hours overtime fairly often

If I was single & didn't have any kids....I would Always choose 4 10's. Even though the one you posted is the worst possible 4 day schedule, I'd still take it over 5 8's

As a dad though, I gotta have at least one traditional weekend day off. I could only take a 4 day week Sun-Wed, We.-Sat, etc.

Working over the weekend does have it's advantages.

I used to work a 4 day work week myself, 14:00 - 23:45, M-Th.
Loved it, that is the shift I would prefer providing you can give up your weekend sports and stuff.

In early....Out early.....Weekends off @):)

weekends arnt that big a deal to me. you can still technically go out on friday and saturday, just have to be back by midnight instead of 3 am.

sports isnt a big enough reason to work one extra day. might be to you, but not me.

the only day you really miss out on is saturday night. but i will always take a full day over one night and like i said the sports isnt a big enough deal for me.
