Astros -104
This is a hard game to quantify due to the relatively unknown value on Valdez. As of now, I am a bit bearish on him, as I am on most soft tossers that heavily rely on control whom are making their debut. The Astros lineup is also filled with veterans who will not be overly aggressive on Valdez, which does not bode well for his chances, as he does not have a true out pitch and needs hitters to go out of the zone. He is also not a candidate to go deep into this game, and when backed by a liability which is the DBacks bullpen, the Astros should have scoring opportunities throughout. Paulino has been snake bit this season, as he has been backed by horrible defense, and has faced a series of the best lineups in the NL. This has masked his true worth, albeit not very valuable. The DBacks rely heavily on the home run. They have a small park that should help their cause. But Paulino has yet to allow a home run all season, which is a good sign, as it was something that plagued him all of last season. Better bullpen goes to the Astros, while the Dbacks might be a bit worn down from a long, high scoring series against the Cubs.
