rondo will continue to start but he isnt even in the same league as marbury. rondo gets the open shots when the big 3 are dbl teamed and can drive the lane and dish it out. they definitely make him better day after day, but he is nowhere near the talent as marbury. mar will shake off the rust, have his shit together and might make them the team to beat again. upper mgmt realized that they cant beat l.a. this year and are taking the chance with the attitude. no other reason to bring him on.

My reply:

Rondo isn't in the same league as Marbury, he's better.

Rondo keeps getting better game by game, and Marbury at 32 is fading
with his best days long gone.

Hopefully Marbury can come off the bench and put in some quality
minutes, and give Rondo rests... But Rondo is the future of that team.

Mega superstar? Let's not push it. But imagine if he ever learns how to shoot a jumper or a FT.

He's been working with Mark Price on his free throws, and has shot
27-32 in the post-season, the best on the team.

Every year his shooting gets better... Hell of a player, very few PGs I'd take ahead of him.

5th best PG in the league, can be spectacular at times

but still inconsistent, hardly a mega superstar

He is easily one of the 5 best players left of the 4 teams right now.

The guy is AMAZING. And he is only going to get better.

Before, he was just that guy who "happens to be the point gaurd". Now he is playing on a whole 'nother level.

Although Rondo has never been asked to be the man like Nash has, I still take Rondo anyday of the week. And if the Suns kept Rondo Nash would have been run out of town by now.

Maybe Rondo is closing in to being a STAR, but he'll never be a SUPERSTAR.

There are dozens of stars in each sport, but only a few SUPERSTARS.
Superstars are the elite of the elite.

Stars - Paul Pierce, Danny Granger, Chris Paul, Steve Nash, etc. etc.

SuperStars - Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, and maybe a couple of more to debate over......

(Regardless I know what your point is Fish wasn't trying to nitpick)

The main thing that separates Rondo from others is that he is a winner and getting better all the time. He is tenacious and he is a great defender as well, and has taken to the leadership role of the Celtics like a bee to honey. This team is better then the Championship team of 2008 IMHO. Would love to see a Boston/L.A. Final as both teams are champions and it would be a real battle or wills.

Magic Johnson said tonight that Rondo is the best player on the Celtics
and the best all-around point guard in the league, and he went on to
say "and it's not even close."

Ya. I heard that. Could not believe what I heard. But he is the best true PG out there right now.
