The Braves, in turn, promoted infield prospect Brandon Hicks from Triple-A Gwinnett and he should see a nice amount of playing time at shortstop for Atlanta. Escobar suffered the groin injury late last week and hadn't made enough progress by Tuesday morning. He's batting a disappointing .215/.295/.266 in 79 at-bats this year. Maybe the rest will do him some good.
