I guess u have some points about why they should be ranked higher but the schools above them are well deserving so and hands down ohio states returning class definitely should be ranked ahead of iowa, so i dont think its that far off being 2 below them...
in any case.. if they match up at end of season both undefeated it should be one helluva game

also i would like to point out iowas scheduling looks fairly a cake walk.. every tough game is at home.. only playing 3 ranked teams.. penn st / wisky/ ohio state ALL AT HOME. lol (good for them though) but playing in big house is scary so that is tough one as well. :toast:

Very hard for IOWA to replace 6 NFL draftees than it is for the teams that did have more NFL draftees ..........simply because Iowa is not consistantly in the TOP TEN in recruiting as teams like FLORIDA, USC, and OKLAHOMA.
Coach Ferentz is routinely turning recruits that are not 4 and 5 star high school recruits into very good NFL players.
I agree, think Iowa suffers at least two losses this coming season, if not more. They will be hard pressed to match last seasons accomplishments(BCS bowl win and #7 final ranking)...........hope I'm wrong though.
Iowa has a nice program, and Ferentz knows how to develop Olineman
but its always Iowa fans with chips on their shoulders who embellish with hyperbole so their beloved Hawks get some cred

same Gatech team who LSU thumped the year before as dogs...
fact is Gatech isnt so tough if you have a month to prepare for their option
so beating them doesnt make Iowa better than the top SEC schools
