I use to when I was younger, but I really don't see the point. Boring as hell if you ask me.

Deep sea fishing, now I like that, but to go to a lake:ohno:

If you think it's boring your not fishing for the right fish, or your going to the wrong places. Don't get me wrong fishing is not action packed, but if your catching fish it's a great time.

The Springtime of the year with the increase in water temperatures is an excellent time to try your luck. Top water plugs early in the morning around coves and surface structure for Large Mouth Bass activity. Crickets and Minnows for ShellCrackers and Crappie in shallower water. Crappie is pronounced Crap ie if your are from the South. Spinner baits such as Roostertails also work well in the Spring of the year. Water temperature, water PH, and water clearity affect fish activity according to experts. When these three conditions are met, your chances for success increase tremendously IMHO.

Just spent the weekend on at the Lake of the Ozarks fishing for Crappie and as always had a great time despite the wheather. I really enjoy how relaxing it is, going down again for Memorial day.

Plus went to 2 strip clubs Saturday noght for the first time in a very long while and still was able to drag a stripper out of there for a very minimal investment. These girls from the midwest have a very mild addiction compared to the ones from Florida.

Way to maximize your time cost effectiveness!
Crappie by day.
Stripper by night.
Fishing techniques were transferable.
Bravo!!

Steak, You Disapoint Me

Living where you do. One of the greatest all around spots in N. America. Lake of the Woods, Rainy, Kap, etc. heaven on earth for me. Put me & my honey in a log cabin on Oak Island, w/ an 18' Lund, no other place I'd rather be. But to each his own. Boring? Try being on one end w/a 50" Muskie on the other, if that doesn't do it, then you're already dead!!:toast:

Boys must be 1st timers. They need to equip boat with a set of rod holders to go with their pair of rod grabbers. There is an art to trolling.

There is nothing like it. Best thing to do imho.

I'll take freshwater fishing for anything, but Deep Sea - nothing compares.

I'm more of a grouper digger than going after the man in the blue suit since I'm a meat fisherman and want to eat what I catch, so I focus on Mangrove, Mutton, Lane, Yellowtail and the ocassional True American Red Snapper and then Red/Gag/Black Grouper. Thrown in a Kingfish to smoke and it can be one hell of a trip.

I go off of Fort Myers Beach with an old commercial captain that now does 6-pack charters. He can be ornery but damn he'll put you on fish.

Best trip to date was an two night trip, where we left at 4pm on a Friday and started fishing around 2am Saturday AM the first night then kept fishing almost non-stop until Sunday afternoon - getting back to the docks around 5pm Sunday night. After filleting, ended up taking home over 100 lbs of fresh fish. I had fish for the next 3 months since I vacuum sealed the majority of it (gave a ton away to family as well).

Trip cost me around $800, so total talley was around 80 cents a pound. Buying that at Wegmans around here would cost me around 15 dollars a pound - if they even have it.

There's nothing like the feeling of thinking you've got a snag and then realize it's not a snag, and the mate starts yelling at you to get yourself strapped in (fishing belt, harness, etc) then you get strapped into the boat itself so you don't get pulled overboard. Your muscles take a pounding but it's so damn satisfying.

You guys are really missing the boat on fishing if you don't do it - especially deep sea.
