While in a real series, i think PHX can give LAL all they want, but unfortunately, we all know it isn't going to be PHX vs CLE/Orlando

Lakers are the better team and should win on their own but their is no way the NBA refs will let Phoenix win regardless.

Stern may order the refs to call the 'touch fouls' early on Phoneix 'just in case'.
Pile up the team fouls on Phoenix early enough to enable the Lakers to go to the foul line later in the quarter just in case the Suns go on a light out shooting streak and pull away in the game.

Lakers have the more complete and better team. But NBA is all about match ups. Dont see how the Suns will be able to stop Lakers front court. Phx will need to out run them. Using their speed will be their best chance

I think the Lakers can slow the suns down, and will face very little defensive pressure when they're on offense.

Can we give up the NBA conspiracy theories?

The NBA just went thru 3 sweeps in their four 2nd round series.

You can't deny the NBA routinely fixes games.

That said, I don't think this series will be fixed. I say the Lakers win in 7.

Watch the 2002 Lakers/Sacramento game 6, and then come back
and see if your tune isn't different.

Watch the Lakers shoot 40 free throws, 27 in the 4th quarter alone.
Watch Kobe cock and slam his elbow into Mike Bibby's face at the
2:00 mark RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE REF - No call. But watch all
the phantom calls that the Lakers got in the 4th quarter.

Ex-Ref Tim Donaghy said this game was fixed, and I (and
Ralph Nader) agree with him.

I will never consider Kobe's ring to be legit that year. In my book,
he only has 3 rings not 4.

You can't be stupid enough to think every game, every series is fixed.

Why is it that nobody says this about the NHL or MLB. NFL from a betting standpoint has fixes (see Pitt vs SD)

NHL officials are the best and most consistent of the four pro leagues.
MLB umps are allowed to ump even after they lose their ability to get themselves in the proper position to be able to visually see the play clearly: thus they continue to miss calls especially when slides are involved in critical situations.
Because the clock is running much of the time in a NFL game when their is no action occuring, the officials do not impact a game to the degree NBA officials can.
NBA officials have a whistle in their mouth that can be blown almost continuously if they choose too. They can dictate the entire tempo, strategy, and most likely outcome of a game if they want too and they do some of the time!

Thanks for posting that. I am now convinced that what Stern ultimately wants is for Cavs to lose so Lebron can revive the New York market.

The NBA is a fucking joke. Of all the major sports it's the most easily fixed.

Why don't you watch Game 3 and tell me how the Kings shot 20 FTs then the Lakers did in LA. Tell me how Mike Bibby took more FTs then Shaq and Kobe did combined in LA. Tell me how Bobby Jackson and Doug Christie took more FTs then the entire Laker team did in LA. And if the refs fixed the series...why did the Kings take more FTs?
