Sometimes, I wonder how many of these people that give info about the cases get retaliated on after the show has aired and their identities are revealed.I really like watching this show but sometimes I feel like they should protect the identities of these people that are already sticking their necks out there to help solve these cases a lot more than they do.After all ,they are dealing with cold blooded killers often times. Also ,a lot of people in these neighborhoods look down on "snitches"and some would seek their own street justice even if they aren't connected to the case just because thats their "code of the streets".
I know in some cases its someone just coping a deal to save themselves but a lot of times it's people that are scared to come forward in the first place but do it in hopes that some good will come out of it.It's hard enough getting witnesses to get involved,it seems like this would only deter them that much more.
Whatcha think?

Didn't think about your point. I think it is a very good point. I would guess in the case of gang murder they maybe doing that.

I think a lot the murders, there is nobody to retaliate, except the murder who is doing time.

This is a very easy answer. Producers of the show ask the people "do you mind being identified?" If they say "yes" then they are shown. If the answer is "no" then their face is blured out.

It's really a personal decision.

Yea but that's what I'm saying.Even with the faces blurred out it's not hard to tell who they are if you know them.

i think of that every once in a while, then i wonder if any of the people that would retaliate even watch the show. i'm guessing not too many, but hey i could be completely wrong.

I would think someone would try their best to catch it if they had interest in the case for that purpose .I think a lot would tune in if they knew someone that would be on the show or just because it was filmed in their neighborhood or city.JMHO
