Back in the day, when the offshore books were trying to lure US customers, they offered outrageous bonuses to get you to sign up. Another way to collect bonuses was to enter contests that you were only competing against like 100 people for some pretty good bonuses and sometime downright $$$ (that usually had to be rolled over). This was in the late 1990's, I believe. One could make a pretty decent wage just shopping around for different bonuses. There were a ton of offshore books competing for the US at that time.
The new laws that made it harder to deposit funds from the US kinda put an end to that.
