special effects-amazing
concept of avatars infiltrating and convincing natives to move-brilliant
the actual execution of the concept-average at best

thought it was too long and i dont know where the sequel kicks in, it wouldve been wise to end the movie after the sky people bombed the monster tree and knocked it down, then i could see where it would pick up from. like i said i like the idea about avatars infiltrating, but it just seemed like the execution couldve been so much better. long periods of cameron just showing off what he can do with his effects and graphics got me wishing for a more fulfilling story in the end.

pandora is amazing. the environment was incredible, sound was briliant and the characters looked great.

ive seen people say this movie is the best ever, and i just laugh at that.

id give it a 7/10 and a lot of the that 7 is the effects and the concept, story significantly lacks imo.

ill take a stoning of soraya m, a movie made on a million dollar budget nobody has ever heard of, but with great character development, incredible story, etc and no effects over a movie like avatar.

great special effects though, best ive ever seen. the floating mountains, incredible.

It was overrated.

I was over the 3-D after about 20 minutes.

10 bucks the next Avatar movie is a prequell.

Story not that great, but the effects and animation is bordering on art.

I watched it last night for the first time. It was a good movie but certainly nowhere near the best I've ever seen.

is this still out in theatres? if you're not watching in 3D, you are missing out on what makes the movie special.

I don't go to the theater. I refuse to spend upwards of a $100 to watch something I can get for $1 in a few months.

I have no desire to waste 2+ hours of my life
on that crap...

I watched it with the kids, and it really wasn't bad at all. I watch a lot of stuff with the kids that I wouldn't normally watch.

I can say that I've seen a whole lot worse than Avatar though.

If you are gonna spend that kind of money making a movie, start by writing a good script.

But yet you watch the Boston Bruins?:drink:

VD,

I honestly have never watched an NHL game in my life. When I was in
college I watched a few live UVM games, but that is about it.

I am enjoying watching the Celtics come together as of late.

I would liken it to an experience more than a movie. As a movie its ok, but as an experience, you actually feel like you traveled to Pandora. I saw it in IMAX 3D, simply amazing.

I enjoyed most of the movie, visual effects were sensational, but there were some cheesy story lines

Are there ANY good movies out? The only good movie I've seen recently was "Blind Side". All the rest suck.

I get movies early on DVD from someone in SAG, Screen Actors Guild, and I have about 10 of them on my desk now.

Shutter Island
Edge of Darkness
Crazy Heart
Nine
Avatar
Time Travelers Wife
Pirate Radio
The Road
Alice in Wonderland
Old Dogs

I haven't watched most of them, but I enjoyed Pirate Radio.
