I was at the game tonight. Was told bottle was $3, tap was free. Sometimes i wonder about the ice they put in the cups, shit is in the wide open, all kinds of stuff can fall in it.

I like spring water myself. Not sure there is much of a difference, but I will pay 10c a bottle, what the hey

In a word yes, bottled water is overrated, however I like Poland Springs, and it's inexpensive.

here's one reason...

bottle of water - $1. (5 cents per ounce)
gallon of gas - $3. (2 cents per ounce)

For a school assignment one of the kids in the neighborhood came over to our house and we did a blind taste test of bottled vs tap. All 4 of us chose bottled water. It may be over priced, but IMO bottled water does taste better.

Is there any topic you haven't covered in the offshore forum?

should not drink it for the green effects alone...many of you don't care about the environment though. would venture a guess that less than 15 percent of people recycle their water bottles. most is thrown away. also takes anywhere from 4-6x as much water to fill up a commercial bottle of water. and add in the oil consumption to make the bottles. The 2 big commercial products Dasani and Aquafina are basically tap water anyways. Most bottels of water at a convenience store, etc. start at 1 dollar and up.

I drink a lot of water and after doing some very basic research on it , I decided I would try to always drink distilled water whenever possible. I bought a distiller and it has already paid for itself. You can believe the amount of crap that accumulates in a months time from tap water here in st. louis. if you ever want to see visual proof of your water, take 5 gallons and boil it all the way down and see what is left.

Ever tried Moland Springs?

I have an Ozarka machine that I pay nothing for and I get seven 5 gallon bottles for around $40 through them. I can definitely tell the difference between tap and bottled water. Tap water also has chemicals in them such as chlorine and flouride.

I don't mind paying for it though because the kids drink plenty of it. I don't buy them soda to drink either.

It all depends what your tap water is like to begin with. Much of it is fine, but it usually sucks in the SW states.

We have hard water down here. I drank tap water obviously growing up because that's all there was. I like drinking the bottled water though as I can taste the difference.
