The good news is that 2 XXX plays were winners yesterday and that there was about 8 units of winnings... the bad news is that the Mets and Mariners both lost on walk offs... thats frustrating. I am thankful that the winning ways returned however and will never be mad about that. Moving on to tonight... I have another day with 2 XXX plays. I really like both and in trying to decide which one I liked better I just decided I like them both equally, and with a winning day yesterday I thought I could spare the extra unit and make two top plays. I also think alot of runs will be scored today as well, and hence a few totals plays. The side's plays I like also and find value in all of them... Here is to a good night!! X = 1 unit.

Phillies -1.5 +145 X

Reds/Braves over 8.5 -115 XX

Red Sox/Twins over 9.5 -110 XX

Angels +139 XX

Padres +106 XX

Tigers -117 XXX rated....

Rockies/Astros over 9 -110 XXX rated...

Sometimes when teams are not hitting well they gain confidence when facing a pitcher they know they have had success with in the past... for instance, Paulino is 0-1 with an 8.10 ERA in two career starts against the Rockies, both of which came last season. So they are familiar with him and will approach the plate with confidence. I really try not to judge a team by "what they have done lately", rather what they have done long term.

In the case of Smith... he has started seven games for Colorado this season and has a 1-2 record and a 6.35 ERA. In his last start, on May 10, the lefty went 5 2/3 innings against San Diego, allowing eight hits and four earned runs, while striking out six and walking four. Although he has never faced the Astros, they have to know they will be able to hit him.

I will never try to change someones mind about a play... I am about a 50% bettor, but I try to find value... if this game was 9.5 or 10 I would have prob. laid off... but I too went over it with a fine tooth comb and see no reason why each team will not be able to score at least 4 runs each!!

Can't believe the Sillies don't warrant better than an "X." Gorzelanny has been the kiss of death to Cubbies games/backers. While for the most part, he keeps his end of the bargain, all hell seems to break lose when the pen comes in, and tonight shouldn't be any different. Add to that the great year the renaissance man, Jamie Moyer, is having AND the embarassment of last night's debacle against the Bucs, you have one perfect storm brewing for the teddy bears. GL with your plays. :103631605

You may be correct, but I will tread lightly for the moment with the PHillies... I think they walk with this one, but we have problems with the pen ourselves and being the home team, not getting last at bat, I feel more comfortable at this time with just a one unit play on the RL... hope you are right and it is a shalacking... all the better!! Lets get it bro!!!

damn maxxx. you see the line up Detroit has put out? Magglio is out and they have a kid with 4 career AB's hitting 3rd. 6-9 in the order for Detroit has been dreadful, probably the worst in baseball. Put this in this morning but thinking about buying back now.

Tigers explode for 4 runs that inning. Verlander is throwing a freaking gem, doesn't get any better than this. 6 more outs. :toast:
