FYI - please be advised that The Rx.com is doing an upgrade with our host VBulletin to their newest available Version at Noon Eastern on Monday. May 24th..

The site will go offline for approximately two hours assuming there are no unforeseen problems..

Hopefully the new version of VBulletin will broaden our ability to improve the way The Rx Posting Forum performs for the entire posting body.

Myself along with the other mods will work as quickly as possible to find any new poster friendly applications that will add to your ease and enjoyment while navigating the site..

Your patience is very much appreciated..The inconvenience of a few hours down time should be well worth it due to improvements to The Forum..

Thank you, wilheim..

Email just now received..Upgrade postponed.

The upgrade scheduled for today has been postponed until Monday at 9:00AM.
Vbulletin found a problem with one of our servers and cannot proceed until resolved.

Apologies, wilheim

Further Information regarding The Rx.com VBulletin Upgrade scheduled for today at Noon EDT

Keep in mind that the upgrade is not considered to be complete until VBulletin sends an email notification to To Rx Tech Support. Once the email is received our techs will work on restoring the look of the forums with modifications to the style and templates. As of now, it is estimated the upgrade will take approximately two hours and Rx Tech Support anticipate another two hours to change the style and address other issues.

The entire process should be rather lengthy (between 4 and 5 hours) but worth the effort. Please try to be patient as everyone involved will do their best to finish as quickly but as effeiciently as posible..

Thanks, wilheim

I hope it is only the default that is making it so you have to log in to view the forum. It will be changed back so you can view it without logging in...right?

Coming from experience upgrading forums to vb4, here are some answers:

the upgrade has been completed, what you see now is the vb 4 default style. Now the tech guys at the RX are most likely manually modifying the styles and templates that made theRX look like it did so they work with vb4. They can slipstream these changes into the current site without taking it down, so at some point or another the site will begin to look like the old style again.

Stuff like logging in to see the forums are all settings that they have either decided to change, or have just not been set back to their original values yet.

Be patient, hopefully they won't have any problems. The trickiest parts are past them, but its still no piece of cake.

Before talk of the current style gets out of hand, please keep in mind that the upgrade finished less than an hour ago and what you are seeing is the default style. Many parts of the forum that you are used to seeing are not compatible with the new revision of the software and the RX administrators are currently working to restore the color, fonts, layouts, navigation bars, headers, and the list goes on. This is a major process and we appreciate your patience.

Thanks, wil.

Thank you, Wil, for the reassurances.

I thought you adopted this "new version" to prevent/punish posters like me who enjoy posting graphics and smileys.

I am thrilled to hear this is NOT the final version.

I can stop whining in the other subforums about this now.
