I use multiple systems over the years to come up with my plays.. One that I typically use but doesnt come into play much is like this:
If you have a game where both starters have at least 6 starts on the season and the ERA differential is 3 or more runs then play the team with the better starter heavy!
Today we are lucky enough to get:
J. Danks 3-3 ERA 2.26 VS. J. Masterson 4-4 ERA 5.65
ERA Differential 3.39
Now put that together with the fact that danks dominates lefties and clevelands best hitters swing from the left side this makes it even easier for me to pull the trigger on a 10 unit play today... Which i haven't done yet this year.
