Is my math correct?
Say if someone laid $100 and took the Celtics when they were down or even tied to the Cavs at 44-1. Then had the cajones to wager half of the $4400 payout and bet the Celtics to sweep Orlando (I'm guessing the odds for that were about the same-44-1), that they would walk away with a cool $96800??!! It was there for the taking...holy shit!!

44-1 was obviously a bad line, if you think the Celts were 44-1 to win the series when it was tied 2-2.

Oh man, you know what I just realized that that 44-1 was to win the conference at the time...my bad...so my post didn't make sense. Thanks Illini...sorry LOD.gt

That still can't be right. They weren't 44-1 to win the conference.

Yes..they were....I was just bumping around looking at some futures and of that I am pretty sure. That when Boston and Cleveland were tied at 2 games apiece and the series was heading back to Cleveland...and Orlando was sweeping Atlanta...the Celtics were +4400 at that point to win the conference. Seems unlikely now but it was there. I mean everyone thought the Celtics were toast at that point. I believe one other poster said he saw those odds as well.
But now you've got me doubting myself....I hope I'm not losing my freaking mind. Please someone else here say you saw those odds.

+4400 to win the Conference at 2-2 would be a massive price, and likely an error - they were roughly +2800 (+4000 at the most) to win the NBA Championship when the series was tied 2-2 so conference should have been around +2000 at very most...

Just had a proper look actually, looks a bit complicated but the links below are Boston's price history across various UK books. Prices are a bit messed up, but scroll down to the 10th May before Game 5 and they are 40/1 to win the outright and 14/1 in general to win the Eastern

you're way off on that line....20-1 at most. probably less than that.
