Truthfully, if you wouldn't mind getting off of AT&T, skip them both and get an Android phone. It would take an essay to properly describe the pure awesomeness of these phones. Why not AT&T's Backflip? Because AT&T is buttbuddies with Apple, the Backflip is severely crippled. The number one problem being that you can't install applications from unknown sources (IOW, non-Market applications). This is important to note because every Android phone has included this as a default option of the Android OS and is the whole concept of Google's Android ... it is your phone, do as you wish. Apple, on the other hand, is running a hippie commune where nothing but their shit is invited in for the party.

this is easy colorado...depends on usage...

if you only talk, text, and email.....internet limited to checking scores....then blackberry and an actual keybad easy

if you want to do that plus more, then Iphone easy....you can see youtube vids, check other non-wap websits like therx, download apps/play games, and watch podcasts/listen to music......email and text still very capable, but a tad less efficient.

I'm getting a new phone within the next couple months.
most important thing for me is being able to browse capping forums like therx and being able to log into 5dimes, betjam, etc.
I believe all this is possible with the iphone. Anyone who has the iphone, can you please share your experiences?

depends on the book but iPhone and blackberry will work at most shops to let you put in plays. If you're getting on the net and browsing? iPhone works very well, blackberry has the large keyboard. I haven't heard a bad thing about Android phones and the battery life maybe longer.
I've had the old 3g iPhone and had a few blackberry's. I have always liked the iPhone more, Blackberry battery life was way better

Lots more free apps than the iPhone and you don't have to settle for AT&T.

i have an iphone and am an iphone app developer.

from my personal experience i know 5dimes.tv works fine on the iphone. the iphone app market simply blows the android market away, my roommate has one and we trade and compare sometimes. the android wins out in integration with google, so if you use google docs or want google maps to have turn by turn directions, android is the way to go.

however, wait till the next iphone which should be in july. the iphone generation 4 will be another great improvement. i dont wanna get into technical reasons this late but they are making it so apps can semi-run at the same time together in the background, as well as finally getting turn by turn directions. also, the next iphone may have video conferencing and an improved camera (see leaked iphone articles).

obviously im kind of a fan of my iphone, but i would definitely recommend waiting till the next iphone is released soon, and then comparing it to the latest-released android based phone.

figured id throw in a shameless plug here as well, search for live odds on the app store and look for the one with the red sp logo...

Whatever you buy, the two year commitment sucks. It's like having to propose to a crack ho to take care of your boner.

Best bet: buy a phone off these guys who hack/unlock shit. I bought an iPhone for $300 and could have bought a Storm for $275. No contract. No $30 data plan.

i've used both, and iphone is killing blackberry IMO. haven't ever used the android. i'd highly recommend the iphone though.
