5Dimes MLB Prop
1977 TEX scores first
1978 MIN scores first
Texas is the play assuming they will be small priced underdog.
Why you ask:
The Rangers send out RHP Colby Lewis, who has a 3.77 ERA away from home in five starts.
Lewis has allowed 13 runs in 31 road innings pitched. In four May starts Lewis has allowed 12 runs in 24.2 innings pitched.
The Twins call on RHP Kevin Slowey who has not gone more than 5 2/3 innings since April 20, a stretch of six starts. Slowey has allowed 14 runs in 29 home innings pitched. In four May starts Slowey has allowed 13 runs in 21 innings.
No line up yet on the prop but obviously we are looking for a live dog in this spot. The Twinkies are only 22 cent favorites at home for some reason. The Rangers are 8-12 on the road this year while the Twins are 15-9 at home. Conclusion the small price on Slowey is a give away if you dig deep enough. I don't trust Texas to win the game enough to play them at that chintsy price but I make them even money to score first.
Prop betting is tricky and often blind luck can make you or break you but when you see numbers that favor the side that should be the dog that can be hard to pass up..The Rangers will score, I just need them to do it first.
Bottom line here is Colby Lewis (after two years of fine tuning in Japan) is the better pitcher.
Best of luck to all, wilheim
