Of course, by posting this i know it will be bumped soon by 5teamparlay, or Vikings611 when he loses, but i dont really care..

Silva has been a great steal for the Cubs so far, going 7-0, and really dominating in many of his performances...i dont think for a minute he'll win a Cy Young or even come close to winning 20, but he has done exactly what the Cubs needed, and that was hold steady during their slow start....They are now coming around, winning 9 of last 12, and are back in the race...

Zambo is going back to being a starter, Marshall (who i have touted for a couple years now) is becoming a VERY RELIABLE set up man, and Marmol has done his job as a closer........

Silva could lose his next 7 starts and still it would have been a good trade, to get a solid arm who eats up innings, and get rid of Bradley...

Totally agree, what a surprise to me. I remember when the Cubs got him for Bradley, I was saying " least the Cubs got rid of that crap, but gee couldn't they get something for him like a propect or something, but Silva!" I thought Silva was about the worst they could get for Bradley. What a steal indeed, no matter what happens the rest of the year.

true Buddah....I was like you, i thought the best part of the deal was simply getting rid of Bradley, not what we were getting back...now he's been a very solid #3 or #4 starter

he 8-0 cause the cubs give him an average of 6.5 runs per game he pitches. seems he is the only pitcher the cubs give that kind of run support to. but i agree, he is a very nice surprise for the cubs.

looks like Silva might suffer his first loss with the Cubs today...but not through much fault of his own...he pitched one of his better games, going 7 innings giving up just 2 runs....but Buerhle has been better today, and shut the Cubs down..

still, a very good outing for Silva, but this one might be the first loss....hopefully, the Cubs can rally, but not looking good right now

Ha ha man...I completely respect you as a capper. And over the years you have proven you know alot about baseball. However, you need to stop drinking your cubs kool-aid bro. This Cubs team is just plain aweful and will probably get swept tomorrow by a below average Sox team.

I as a Sox fan am willing to admit that my team sucks and most cub fans I know are doing the same. I think its time for both sides to start the rebuilding process as they do not have what it takes. Trust me this is extremely hard for me to say as I thought my team would win the AL Central easily. However I have to be a realist here and admit that they just don't have what it takes.

And in my opinion..the first guy you should deal is Silva. The numbers suggest that there is no way this guy can keep up what he is doing. And with the numbers he has put up, you should be able to land a couple of real good prospects at the trading deadline, if he hasn't imploded by then.
