So I have a 52 inch Samsung and a laptop that only has VGA jack. I got the VGA cable today and plugged it into the lap top and then plugged it into the back of the TV. From there I can not get it to show the computer screen on the tv.

I got the screen saver on the laptop to come up on the tv and that is all. When I log onto the net it wont display what I am doing.

Is there something in the settings that I have to change? Does anyone have some step by step guide for an idiot like me? Just trying to get a little higher tech.

I also got an audio cable thingy to plug into the earphone jack on the lap top and the back of the tv so I can get sound but right now I cant get shit.

Can you tell me where to find these settings? Is it in the control panel?

I can get to the control panel and then click on appearance and themes then click on display and the settings tab and from there I am lost. Is this the right area?

When I get there I see a display of a big monitor like screen and then a little one. Not sure how to active the tv screen so it shows what I am doing.
