I used to plan on retiring at 60 or 65 with several million from compound interest. With the state of the economy and the global collapse that is coming, I no longer think past the next day.

yep it is for sure coming.... not sure many businesses will thrive even 8-10 yrs from now, if Bigbet can make it as a baker and cake decorator... more power to him

euro got hit hard cos of the credit issues..another hit to the economy when they were just starting to recover. ALthough im in AUS and the job market has been steadily increasing which could be a good indicator of the direction of businesses here

Family bough some savings bonds for me when I was born, so I guess it has been my entire lifetime

If we only count those based on when they were cashed, the answer would be rounded off to age 17 until now; that's how long I've been building assets. Obviously some moments have been a lot more punctuated than others, right now the general trend is inching upwards, even if it feels stagnant. Went up a little with a paycheck last Friday, going to drop a little with rent check on the first of the month. . .

Became wealthy in about 2 weeks fading Lang and never looked back. LOL! JK we're all hurting right now as far as investments go across the board. Gotta do something on the side in this country as long as it does not require drugs or hurting people I say more power to you and I encourage everyone to find something they can make a little bit of dough with on the side because God knows our government won't be giving us the resources we need to be successful. It's a capitalist society so with enough heart and determination we can all make something of ourselves and wreap the financial rewards!!

I had plans with my financial adviser to retire at 55 (in 9 yrs) but with the
rapists in Washington spending my (and my kids ) future, who knows.... like you say.

I had as much money in my back pocket when i was 17 as i do today 33 years later. Being ignorant and uninformed cost me big time. Somebody asked me the other day if i was ready to retire. I told him when i retire the wake will be the next day........

typical business plan

1st year is always the most difficult, and 2nd yr ain't much better should you survive the first. Year 3 things start to swing, and by the end of year 5 you start rolling. I've seen this time and time and time again through many different industries, including an accounting practice.
