The Cubs made Cashner their top pick in the 2008 draft (19th overall) and he has shot quickly through the system. The 23-year-old has been a starter for most of the season at Triple-A Iowa, but will work in relief in the big leagues. He had a 0.86 ERA and a 17/2 K/BB ratio in 20 innings on the farm.
