" America's Got Talent...." debuts tonight.....

Finally glad to see one of my fav shows back on the air, for it's annual summer run....

This is a widespread version of American Idol, where contestants can do any kind of talent, in hopes of winning a million dollars and their own show in Vegas....

The most successful of the winners is Terry Fator, the amazing singing ventriloquist, who won Season #2.....he has went on to headling a show in vegas in his own theatre at the Mirage, and was reportedly signed to 5 years for 100 million dollars.....and from someone who saw his show live last year, during the RX Bash, he's worth every penny...one of the most entertaining shows I have ever seen....

Tonight kicks off a new year, without the 'Hoff as a judge, he's replaced by Howie Mandel...but returning are Piers Morgan, Sharon Osborne and Nick Cannon as host...

They start out tonight with auditions, much like American Idol, except as a rule, you tend to see more good ones on here, than on Idol, and not quite as many clunkers.......

they've really had some weird acts on so far tonight....at least its different kind of stuff, but some real weird stuff...havent had a normal singer yet.....which is weird...

Is it worth seeing Fator in Las Vegas if someone has never missed one of his performances on the season he was on AGT? I heard that if someone has seen him on AGT, you have seen his entire Vegas act.

damn, IS, whoever told you that, lied to your face...

In fact when we saw him, i think there were only 2 of the characters he ever showed on tv, in the act, that was the country guy Meynard Tompkins and the Elvis impersonator.....he did at least 30 different characters in the show i would say, along with a little of his own singing without the ventriloquism......they also have a great slideshow that goes along with it, and is very funny...

Betallsports, saw it that night as well...I'm sure he and his wife had the same impression of the show

the camera work on this show is atrocious. I never tune in thinking about camera angles, but it never fails... as soon as any act gets started, the cameras jump off the performance and pan in on judges, the crowd, etc.. How can the Tv audience enjoy a performance if the cameras are jumping around? It gets on my nerves big time.

haha, i never really noticed that to be honest.....i have watched all 5 seasons, and love the show, but hadnt really noticed that...i'll keep an eye out for it tonight..

its on again tonight at 9 pm est..........and the previews already said "the one audition you'll be talking about all summer" don't know if thats good or bad...LOL

finally the top 48 has been chosen, and they go to the full stage in hollywood where they get to put on their full show.....12 contestants each night vie for the spots in the finals....should be some good stuff...they have had some real good talent this year, and a few clunkers that for some reason made it through...but overall, one of the better semifinals they have had......

so far the 3 that have moved through from last nights 12 i would say are the right 3.....only the tappers have a real beef i would say......hated to see Maricasa go though, what a rack......if she cant make it as a model or porn star, no one can..

LOL Doug.....

I enjoy it , but mainly cuz of Terry Fator during the 2nd season, and the fact that it's on in summertime when most everything else is reruns....
