If this happen, fuck the cubs.
Lee is the best hitter on the cubs. I don't care how he started the season.
Lee has always been clutch in the playoffs, not that the organization wants to get them there.

Every time a team need's a 1st Baseman, one name just keeps appearing in my head. He still around anywhere? He just kept coming back and back and back.

DLee does have full no trade clause. Three big players that will be dealt......DAN HAREN, ROY OSWALT, CLIFF LEE, and possibly LANCE BERKMAN and PAUL KONERKO

Wonder if there is any chance they St. Louis goes after or can afford any of those 3. With Penny and Lohse both out, they sure could use one to go with Wainwright and Carpenter. What a top 3 they would have come October.

Oswalt has the cardinals as one of his three clubs...

Astros' Oswalt targets three teams

By Mark J. Miller

Houston Astros ace Roy Oswalt(notes) wants out of the Lone Star State and has told his team that he'll waive his no-trade clause if the Astros can strike a deal with one of three teams, according to AOL Fanhouse. Fanhouse reported that Oswalt would only approve trades to the Philadelphia Phillies, New York Yankees or St. Louis Cardinals.

You don't like what the Cards are getting from Jaime Garcia (ERA 1.32) so far this season?

Mariners expect Lee to be part of trade talks with Yankees

By Mark Miller

When Cliff Lee(notes) went to the World Series with the Philadelphia Phillies last year, he won the two games he started against the New York Yankees and caught one ball behind his back for a nifty out to boot. Now the Yankees appear interested in adding Lee to their roster.

Lee's current team, the Seattle Mariners, is expecting the Yanks to come calling before the trade deadline to ask about his services, according to the New York Post.

Instead of dominating the American League West as predicted, the Mariners have sunk to the bottom with a record of 23-35 and are 13 games back in the division. Lee is in the final year of his contract and is expected to be on the trading block if the M's can't turn things around.

"They want one of the [Yanks' minor-league] catchers and [Triple-A shortstop Eduardo] Nunez," a source told the Post.

The two catchers likely in question are Double-A Trenton Thunder's Austin Romine and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees Jesus Montero(notes), two of the top prospects in the Yankees' system.

According to the paper, the Mariners have sent scouts to numerous Yankees minor league games in preparation for a possible trade.

IF the Yankees get Cliff Lee everyone in the NL East and American League can just set their tee times now. and it will be a disgrace and disgusting.

I can't see the Yanks giving up Montero though...they absolutely love him. Unless of course they can sign Lee to an extension.

Lee back to the Phillies....that would be something....

that would be nice .. I was thinking the same thing,,when I heard Lee was on the t-block.
then I thought something else .... recently anyway ,,it seems every team Lee lands with, is in a hurry to get rid of him ?
after his first year in Philly .. Jr.,,didn't even want to negotiate,,then dealt him away asap.
anyone have a thought ?

Through his first five games with the Phillies, Lee amassed a 5–0 record, 39 strikeouts in 40 innings pitched, and a 0.68 ERA.

I'm all for it but don't think it's gonna happen. Would love to get rid of Big Joe he's really been awful lately! Any left fielders on the trading block? Ibanez is a deer in headlights every at bat and is not very good defensively either, I'm done with him and really think a change has to be made.

Unless he has character issues which we don't know about I think it's just been a case of bad timing for Cliff.
