Been trying to warn you guys for awhile now about the Yankees as a short faves.
Here are the numbers to back it up.

My definition of a short fave is NYY -100 up to NYY -160

Results from the past 3 weeks as a short fave

06/04/10 @ TOR L 1-6 A.J. Burnett (R) Brett Cecil (L) L -127
05/27/10 @ MIN L 2-8 Javier Vazquez (R) Nick Blackburn (R) L -107
05/25/10 @ MIN W 1-0 A.J. Burnett (R) Scott Baker (R) W -102
05/23/10 @ NYM L 4-6 CC Sabathia (L) Johan Santana (L) L -137
05/22/10 @ NYM L 3-5 Philip Hughes (R) Michael Pelfrey (R) L -160
05/21/10 @ NYM W 2-1 Javier Vazquez (R) Hisanori Takahashi (L) W -159
05/20/10 TB L 6-8 James Shields (R) Andy Pettitte (L) L -136

2 and 6 in eight such situations.

You would have picked up 200 on two winning dimes bets.
You ould have lost 788 on six losing dime bets.

Do the math.

Bill... if you carry it out more the Yanks are actually 3-9 their last 12 as a fave of -160 or lower. That's made vig down the toilet. All the Yanks are good for is bashing the O's and Indians as -300 faves. They are a very bad low vig team.

Yeah, I could have carried it out all season, but I just wanted to make it recent.

And to expand on your point, if you flat bet the Yanks at -300 all year, for every one you lose, you need to win three to break even.

Stating the obvious?

:lolBIG: If this board hasn't figured out by now how to play the Yanks, why bother??? Only one play IMO and that's on the RL at home, IF, and only IF your numbers support a win. Plain and simple, they either loose or win by 2 or more.

wow. get the feeling that top of the 7th could come back to haunt the Yanks. 2nd and 3rd 1 out and Jeter hits a rope into a DP.
