Dont see how NHL can let this happen, should have had the game SAT or MON. Obviously the NBA is less concerned.

Why is it the NHL's fault? They started their finals earlier

Just shows how clueless NHL is.. They need casual fans and no casual fan will watch this over NBA finals

Because they want game on Sunday night which is very strong tv night

So why should the NHL give up a Sunday night? Screw the NBA with their two days off BS.

Different fan bases anyway, I doubt there is much cross-over audience.

Hey I love hockey.. But the NHL needs casual fans and going up against NBA ain't gonna help

What? I don't know that much about the NHL, but if it was a normal freaking channel, I would easily watch the NHL finals over the NBA finals any day.

I have three Tvs together so doesn't bother me, but NHL is retarded.

NHL has to know NBA aims for Sundays. Find out what time and avoid it. Either play Sat or put is a few hours before and hope people watch both.

NHL needs as many fans as it can get.

I believe the NHL game is on NBC Sunday night.

Also this happens only once every four years because if not for the Olympic break the NHL season would be over.

game 5 played the same date last year.

this is one of the problems that is so evident to everyone but the league itself. season too damn long. starts in the first week of october, ends in middle of june. preseason games in september. WTFFF

another big problem is the league has 82 meaningless games, but yet still can't manage to have every team play eachother. imagine having season tix for vancouver and not getting one home date with crosby or ovechkin? wtf how stupid is that. that'd be like kobe and the lakers not coming new jersey all season.

this league has so many obvious problems, but they can't get out of their own way. and i love hockey.

I couldn't agree more, I'm so sick of bandwagon fans here at home too. If I have to tell one more fucking "man" what icing is I'm going to explode.

The nhl had a 3.1 last night.

nba finals game one had a 10.4

this nhl is clueless. You dont put up your best product against a superior product getting triple the viewership in demos you need to build your product.

you showcase it on its own night, which should be tonight or monday night. this is marketing 101. this is also why the nhl is relegated with the likes of mls and arena league

Poor scheduling and poor spelling.

I have not watched an entire NBA game all year. Nor would I bet that "sport".

It is sad that the league that is least rigged will get the lowest ratings.

There will be only one game on my screen 2 morrow.

Long live the NHL!

While the NHL ultimatly loses out if they play the same night, the NBA is at fault. The NHL schedules games like it should be, and the NBA takes extra days off. Personally I will be flipping back and forth between the two but the hockey game will get my attention. The NHL has enjoyed bettter ratings than previous year and if the NBA doesnt clean up their BS IE Terrible officiating more people are going to be switching over to the NHL.
