Yeah, 1887 is really relevant.

Who the f*ck played for the Cubs then? Thomas Jefferson?

ummmm.. he is saying that they have won at Pittsburgh at least once a year since 1887, which is a long time boss.

So the Cubs have won 1 time out of eight or nine per year on the road against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Well aren't they just incredible. But tell me: what does the 1910 team, or the 1945 team, or the 2004 team, or even last year's team, have to do with THIS YEAR'S team?

The players are not the same. The managers are not the same. The ball parks are not the same. The game is not even the same.

Hey bro, the wheel just came up black for the 10th time in a row.

Bet the next one is RED!

alright man. its called a trend, choose to follow it or leave it alone. but im glad that this cubs team has nothing to do with cubs teams in the past because the cubs are the biggest joke in professional sports. this is the first time i have EVER put my hard earned money on the cubs b/c of one guy, Silva. One last thing, dont ever call me a bro again.

OK, bro, here's the thing: I like the Cubs today. But I don't like them because of Silva, because the guy is terrible and was the ultimate fade for the last two seasons if you paid any attention to MLB. He will eventually come back to reality and everyone who is a fan of the Cubs knows it. Silva simply can't keep this up and won't keep this up. The guy is a clown who has, against all odds, somehow managed to go 7-0 to start the year.

I also don't like the Cubs because of what they did in 1895 or 1925 or 1995 or 2005. Seriously: these are trends that should be ignored. The past has no impact on the future. The Cubs took trains to practice in 1911 and then they quit baseball to fight in the war in the 1940s or 50s. And somehow these teams of the past, teams that show up in historical textbooks and encylopedias and had their box scores written with feather pens, are someone relevant to today's game being played not at Ebbets Field but at beautiful PNC Park in front of fans who don't care?

:scared1:

WTF does that have to do with Carlos Silva possibly waking up this morning with a stiff neck, or Alfonso Soriano maybe mailing it in, or Aramis Ramirez continually swinging at pitches in the dirt, or the bullpen continuing to stink the ivy off the bricks?

What does that have to do with today's weather? Or the circumstances that led the Cubs to play this one-game series at PNC Park in the first place?

Or the Cubs' recent skid? Or Eveland's first start for the Pirates? Or anything.

You keep capping games based on Grover Cleveland's public policy, and I'll stick to capping games in the here and now. I'll bet you I end up ahead.

Las, man, sorry but on this YOU LOSE.

Iowa City could not in its wildest dreams hold a candle to NYC. That's just a fact. If you don't like NYC, that says more about YOU, than it.

last time i check, us guys as in iowa, doesnt have a baseball team. which would mean i have never gotten my ass handed to me in yankee stadium. im more about historical kinnick stadium and something that matters, college football. im not going to have a pointless argument about which city is better, i go to school here and if i wanted to I would have gone to a school on the east coast, which was my last choice. but if you guys dont like getting drunk at one of the 42 bars in a mile and half radius, look at beautiful women who's panties readily slip off with a couple shots, and some good buds then you guys might be gays. but if you do like at least two of those things you would like iowa city. i just compare NY city folk to frenchmen because they both are extremely stuck up for no apparent reason, which in my eyes is silly. everyone has their own opinions and those should be respected with with different perspectives.
