Do you think they can win the West? And if not, why not and who do you think will win the NL West?

The pitching staff is pretty good (except for Wellemeyer). Freddy Sanchez, Pat Burrell, Sandoval, Huff, Torres is hitting better...

If only Molina and Rowand could get it together..

So play Brian Sabean for a minute. What would you do to try to bring San Francisco its first WS championship?

Well, with them getting swept this series in Cincy I doubt it.

Lincuem is struggling, that doesn't help

From what I've seen of them, they could use a closer(Wilson sucks) and another bat. Starting pitching keeps them in games. Timmy struggling, but I'm sure after All Star break he'll be fine. If Red Sox get Ellsbury and Cameron back to full strength soon maybe pull a deal for Hermida or Hall to give them some OF depth and decent bat. Won't have to give back much.

The division is up for grabs.

Prince Fielders name seems to come up a lot in trade rumors, although I don't think Sabean would ever make that happen.

They need more plate patience as well. I'm sure they are around dead last (except for Houston) in baseball for getting base on balls. I've seldomly seen a team swing at so many blatantly horrible pitches on 2-0 or 3-1 counts when they are trailing.

Colorado or LA win the division.

SD and SF lack enough offense to win. While the pitching has been good for SD, they don't have staff of Roy's and Timmy's pitching. So, I don't think they sustain it. The Giants need too many starting performances that hold opponents 2 runs or less. Wilson is always to close to getting rocked.

As for the Giants their offense has been awful since Barroid left.

he tried to play THERX as chumps and got caught by the keen eye of BAS...so now he should go off into the sunset as a ghost creator stiff that he is...

their bullpen is fine, could be improved, but compared to the rest of the bullpens around the league, it's in the top tier...

the real problem is the lineup, but posey and sanchez have done wonders to remedy that, burrell as well, but all real small sample sizes for now...

rowand is a black hole and they should just eat his ridiculous contract, schierholz should be out there playing in the outfield with torres and huff, not rowand.
