I'll probably just bet a bunch of dogs and ties but am wondering if anyone here has a consistent good soccer record?

If you want to bet the world cup I would recommend you spend your time looking at props / smaller markets rather than betting the match-ups, which I suspect will be pretty efficient (even geographical variation is effectively gone these days with so many arbitrageurs).

sean1, if you can't find anyone you fancy, your initial thought of dogs and ties receives a strong vote +

And I can vouch for this guy. I watched his thread awhile back. I just had not much to add. But he seems to know his shit.

Soriano12 has shown some early promise at this level and IMO is worth checking out during the next month.

Play from Soriano12 for tomorrow Saturday, June 12th.

Like I said in a different thread, I'm not sure what to do with England yet...but I like ARG -1 -125 against Nigeria, I'm not really high on the Nigerian squad and African teams are generally lacking some defense and goalie skills and ARG has lots of offense.

Best of luck to all, wil..

Thanks for the kind words, but if you really want to follow my picks proceed with caution since I wouldn't consider myself a soccer expert (at least from a betting standpoint).
So take it fwiw: I'll start off tomorrows games with "Sth. Korea clean sheet" --> YES +185 (intertops f.e. also has this bet +175):
Waited too long to play the under 2 for the game, now U2 is too much juice for me: I expect Greece to play extremely defensive minded once again and normally Sth Korea, without a really good playmaker, should struggle to break up that defense. But then again Sth. Korea is a team with pretty fast players and the Greek team is pretty old (and slow) and struggled in both games against Switzerland, who in my opinion are the only team, that Greece played the last couple of months, with a playing style remotely comparable to Korea (although KOR has a better defense).
Greece has struggled to score against decent teams and Korea showed their good defense, when they f.e. just allowed 1 goal against Spain and in their scoreless friendlies against ECU+JAP. Greece didn't score at home against Paraguay in their final exhibition match and Korea has a good organised defense. Only thing that's giving me a slight headache are corner or free kicks by Greece since the Korean team is considerably smaller than their Greek counterpart.

That's a great combo. It makes watching it even more enjoyable.

I'd bet following Soriano for the WC will be profitable.

Nice job! Thanks.

Will start of tommorows games with Slovenia to win (+132 at pinnacle right now) and Slovenia to win with a clean sheet (+250 at pinnacle).
Algerias defense is crap, they allowed 2-3 goals to almost any decent opponent, while Slovenia has shown some decent offense and scored at least once in almost every game, most of the times even twice or more, especially against weaker opponents.
Slovenias defense is solid and Algeria was shut out almost any time they didn't play some bad team like UAE. I will take that "win to nil" just smaller because Slovenia even allowed NZL and Qatar to score in their friendlies, but then again these were just friendlies where it didn't matter if they won 3:0 or 3:1 while today every goal might make the difference between elimination and advancing to the next round because of the tiebreaker rules.
I might even take a very small shot at correct score 3:0 (25:1 odds)...

Well, sometimes you win bets, you should have lost...Slovenia was absolutely horrible, can't remember a game they played that terrible: no pressing, horrible ballhandling, bad passing game....
