Anyone get the Sprint Evo phone yet? I am thinking of upgrading and it sounds pretty good to me. Thanks.

Yep I got it.

It is an amazing piece of machinery. Probably going to take me a year to learn to really use this thing. But it's almost like a small tablet computer that can also make phone calls. The screen is awesomely huge and vibrant. Web renders beautifully and fast.

Some people are complaining about battery life, but mine's been OK so far, though I think a lot depends on your location.

Yes I read where it will use the battery life up constantly searching for 4G if you are not in that area, so you have to turn it off. (Or something like that)

D2 I also wanted to ask you if you have ever used a blackberry or familiar with one.
How does that phone, or any type of phone close to it, compare to a blackberry with the email & other functions?

Thanks

D2bets, is the EVO too big to fit comfortably in the front pocket of a pair of jeans?

Nope, not at all. Overall it's actually just barely bigger than iphone, just that there is more screen to it. I have pretty big hands so it fits well in my hand too. I really think the size and screen of this phone hits the sweet spot.

Never used a blackberry, but just about everyone I know that has one doesn't seem to like it and aren't sure what's so good about it. Not sure what email functions, but it does all the e-mail stuff that I need to do, and it renders e-mails beautifully, better than the Palm Pre that I had, although I do miss the swipe gesturing from the Pre. If Evo just ran an OS that had the gestures of the Palm Pre, it would be just about perfect.
