Rec: 6-0
Actually a card of opportunity abounds today as I see it which normally means run for the hills and don't look back doing it. I could be wrong, it only happens once a day, but Joe P. might just have a wet dream tonight. OK, enough philosophy. I say all this becaue two of my favorite plays tonight made the Covers top 5 and I know a group of you subscribe to the thought that the public just can't be right 99% of the time. So I get my 1% here. Looking at this matchup, it is no matchup, kind of reminds me of the constant Yanks RL stats in the Bronx. Let's face it, Mr. Buchholz is having a pretty damn good year, as are most of the Sox pitchers which is the reason most if not all baseball pundits stated they had the best rotation going into the season. Buchholz's numbers on the road AND at night are plain great: 5-0 on the road with an ERA of 1.31 and when he comes out of his coffin, 1.75. Being a vampire, his daytime number ballons to well over 6. And of course, everyone knows that I personally like "what have you done for me lately" which is as good as it gets: 0.41 last three outings. Mr. Masterson, on the other hand, as been good money betting against except for his last outing against the WSox, and I will be the first to admit I took a hit on that game having enjoyed his starts as one of my personal atm machines. Hitting the last 10 games for the Indians seems to be an enigma in progress. While a week or so ago I was comparing I believe Toronto's batting against lefties to that of Cleveland, i.e. being among the worst in MLB, Cleveland has somehow managed to move toward the head of the pack in that category. TOO DAMN BAD! Buchholz pitches with his right hand, lol, and Cleveland has now positioned itself among the cellar dwellars of right hand batting. Boston on the other hand, has batted a very respectable .289 of late against righties so we'll give the hitting nod to the Sox. But wait, there is a glimmer of hope for you anit-Joe P backers. Boston's BP is barely a shade better than the Indian's today. I'm sorry folks, this has 911 written all over it and I plan on driving the ambulance. Really surprised 2PM didn't make this his chalk play but in my humble view, there's plenty of them today. GL as always.
