How many empty houses on your block?

I was just sitting outside and started to count just how many empty houses I have on my block alone.

3 empty ones from people just getting old and needing to move into a home.

2 others the people died from heart atacks.

2 others are in foreclosure. Michigan is 5th in foreclosures.

Hope your nieghborhoods are doing better than mine.

I know Michigan is bad though.

Aren't you guys supposed to start legalizing weed soon? I know I heard something along those lines.

2 right across from me.. 3 down the block .. one a very nice 3000 sq foot 2 story( right across) ... the other a 1 story 2200 sq feet... nice homes both neighbors went tits

up in there business... but mostly they spent to much over the years buying boats and campers and crap and did not save like some did... there business ( window sales ) went tits

up to and so they moved into a small 2 bed apt

lesson to us all ... you do not have to keep up with the Jonees

0, infact they do not last long when they hit the market, only 3 this year and all 3 sold within 60 days..Not a big development less than 75 homes

57 condos where I live, always a few for sale.

How does an average Canadian afford Toronto or Vancouver ?

If a small house costs a million, does a school teacher make like 150k or something ?

well my small house was 450K not 1 million.

And interest rates are very low for the time being.

But what most have to do is Commute. Living right in the city is for the rich and famous.

I'm in Vancouver.
Huge price rises over LY now cooling.
No empty houses anywhere or foreclosures, due to a prudent banking system.
You HAVE to have a downpayment AND a job.....what a novel idea eh?
Also you pay default insurance, payable to the bank when you buy....unless you have 25% or more down.

Asian influx keeps prices high as the Best Coast is the only place to live in Canada.
Average price about $630K

I beleive its only 20% now to avoid CHMC fees

CMHC is a Phuckin' ripoff anyway if 5%.........they have paid very few claims.
