just finished it a bit ago.


interesting story, great acting.

soundtrack is solid.

visuals were nice, some of the dream scenes were a bit cheesy.

film moves well, doesnt go on and on forever and has solid character development.

this is probably the best movie ive seen this year outside of the stoning of soraya m.

solid 4 out of 5 stars.

Very strange movie indeed.I dont think that its tearing the house down in terms of such a great movie, however its watchable.

Just my thoughts anyhow.................

I thought it was pretty pedestrian as far as a story went, but some of the camera work was brilliant and the mood was set very well. Thought it lingered a bit too long for what it was though. Also, I really feel as though Ben Kingsley phones it in these days... Really haven't been thrilled by anything he's done since Sexy Beast. Having said all that, it's Scorsese and I'm glad I saw it.

Gotta agree. I thought visuals and score was impressive, but I actually predicted the ending about 30 mins into it. Gotta be honest that it's not one of those movies I could re-watch too many times.

This is definitely a good thriller. No horror at all. BTW, I'm with you. Can't stand all the blood and guts horror films. Never even rent them. Highly recommend Shutter Island. Very entertaining film IMHO.

Much of it filmed in my hometown at the former state hospital. I liked the movie, but wouldn't call it a classic.

Oh come on, McGruber was tremendous.

Back on topic, Shutter Island was excellent, little dragged out, but excellent never the less.

Saw it at the theater & like it, but Shutter Island is kind of a copycat idea from the movie THE OTHERS with Nicole Kidman....

If you've ever seen The Others with Nicole Kidman, just past the midway point of Shutter Island you being to get the suspicion it could be similar.....

Superb acting in this, liked it alot but wish the ending was a little different for some reason. Seemed like a chunk was missing. One of the better movies of last few years.
