Two Long Island teens were arrested after burning and stabbing a 12-pound turtle to death Saturday, Suffolk County police said.
Roark Xanthos and Thomas Gorman, both 18, picked up the snapper from the side of the road in Bellport about 9:30 a.m., police said.
The masochistic pair doused the turtle with gasoline and tossed it in a makeshift fire pit before setting the reptile ablaze, cops said.
The teens then stabbed the charred chelonian through its shell with a long metal pole, killing the creature.
Cops slapped the pair with animal cruelty and criminal trespass charges.
