Neil Rogers show Miami

For anyone who has lived in South Florida you must have heard of the Neil Rogers Show. Sad day when he retired a few years ago, but I stumbled on his website. Here is the link to his sound bits songs/sayings..Man I enjoyed his show especially in the early 90's. I would listen during work and would get bored and write hate emails to the guy and he would get riled up.

that is frickin hilarious. Near the end Neil went a little to left for me and it got a little ponderous man, ponderous..

Another fantastic radio personality is Phil Hendrie. I have a few of his Best Of cd's. Now that is some funny shit. This should also bring in our west coast friends for comments

Looks like Neil passed away today. What a shame the way he went out too. Forced into early retirement and dead less than 2 years later. That job kept him alive.

Wow. Sad. Called his show often and sent faxes..emails...

For a while I was addicted to his show

Apparently he had a few strokes and heart attacks over the recent months. He went to Miami to get heart surgery but they said he was too weak and was moved to hospice care. He was suffering from dementia due to the diabetes as well. They say he wasn't really aware of where he was anymore.

Really sad stuff. I used to email his show as well and get under his skin. Here's one email I wrote to him:

Dementia? wow, the guy was sharp as a tack

Just go to his site all the stuff is there. Saymour, when did you stop listening to him? Sad to see him go out like this man. His last show was on 6/12/09. Apparently they were looking for any reason to get rid of him and when he accidentally said "fuck" on the air after one of the dump buttons weren't working they paid him off and he left the station. The retirement was all such corporate bullshit especially if you listen to the last show there is no hint of him wanting to retire and two weeks later he's gone. Someone uploaded his shows http://www.mediafire.com/#2,1 download the last one from 6/12/09. The guy didn't know it at the time that he was doing the last show of his career.

The progressive deterioration and decline has been rapid; significant since THANKSGIVING," KENT wrote, adding that ROGERS is also suffering from "Sundowners Syndrome," causing agitation and confusion in late afternoon or early evening hours.ROGERS is surrounded by his closest friends and acquaintances, according to KENT, and is receiving around-the-clock care, but KENT said that "visits and phone calls are no longer appropriate" and that he will end daily updates and use the occasion to raise public awareness of the preventability of vascular dementia by maintaining physical health from a young age."

U think I stopped listening around 2005? it seemed like George was always on - I've been to his site - I tried to find his his version of American Pie which I loved but never could find it - u got it?
