Hey y'all,
I'm creating a bet tracker for myself to use, either in excel or through some sort of web interface to a database. I figured that as long as I was creating something for me to use, why don't I create something that we could all use? That way, we can all use it to get better at handicapping.
So, basically, I'm asking you guys for things that you would want a bet tracker that you use to be able to do. Things I probably wouldn't think of, but that you think would be really cool to have done for you.
Some of the obvious things that I've thought about are:
1) Easy way to enter bets in
2) Easy way to see the bets that I've entered
3) Ability to see your progress by date (graph of your bankroll by date)
4) Ability to sort your results by bet type (did I do better betting spreads vs. totals? NFL vs. NBA? 1st halves vs. Full games?)
5) Ability to sum up how much I've wagered at any sportsbook (so that I can calculate my rollover and how much I have left to wager)
6) Automatic factoring in of matchbook commissions (If I accept an offer for -101, I'm really getting -101.8 for example in baseball)
I'm pretty handy with these things, so don't worry about how complicated something might be to program/do. Basically, I'm trying to figure out things that would be useful that I haven't thought about yet.
So if you had someone creating a bet tracker for you, what would want it to do?
Hopefully, with y'all's good ideas, we'll all be able to use this and get better at betting!
