"We have talked to his agent, but there's nothing so far," said Amaro, who added that the talks began "a few weeks ago." "We are not negotiating, but we've been talking to him. It all depends on whether he wants to play or not." Sources tell ESPNDeportes.com that the 38-year-old right-hander is currently prepping in the Dominican Republic for a return after the All-Star break. Of course, Martinez was 5-1 with a 3.63 ERA in nine starts with the Phillies during the second half of the 2009 season and played a critical role for the club during the postseason.
