Is it weird I'd rather stay home by myself for a big game

Hard to explain, but I'd rather be home watching Game 7 then out at the bar or at a big house party.

Can't deal with a bunch of yahoos when one of my teams has it all on the line.

Is this weird?

Red Sox 2003 series clinching losing game in ALCS, I am thankful I had watched that by myself. (I was very depressed for a few days afterwards) After that, I am fairly sure I can handle anything. Going to watch tonight's game by myself just the same. No money on it, I could go to my friends or a bar, but perfer to be by myself.

I agree 100%.
More so with $$ on the game.
Drinks are free and quick at home.
No bar obnoxious to deal with.

Would rather watch every big game alone. Most people just watching the game at the bar are casual fans who have maybe watched 20 games all season and are more about going out and getting drunk than caring about the actual basketball game. I have no problem with that, but I take my sports life and death seriously.

I just left a Famous Dave's Bar-B-Q in San Diego and I couldn't believe the amount of Celtic fans. Lakers were down all game until they finally tied it. I said if I got out of that place the Lakers would win. Here's hoping.

did you see the energy in that building tonight? There is no way you could fully appreciate the effort given by the players with a bunch of drunken casual sports fans. Only gamblers know the true feeling of effort and determination for every point.

I'd rather be at home when I got cash riding on a game. That way i'm close to my computer and can run in and make a halftime bet and try to chase my shitty line bet! :)

i dont mind going out if i got money on a game. but if its one of my teams playing i gotta be by myself watching at my house. ex. minnesota nfc championship game watched it at home, and after that ending i was so happy i did, i was depressed for a week. mad all week, if i were at a bar i would have ended up punching some tool in the face who talks like they think they know everything about sports...

its hard to explain y but i just cant watch with others when my team is playing. it frustrates me

if i can't be there, i'd rather watch alone at home. i go out to the bar a lot 'cause it's the only social interaction i've been getting since relocating... but there's nothing more painful than having to do deal /w morons who are casual fans and want to actually try and talk about the games.

If I have money on the game, I dont want anyone around me. I watch college football & NFL alone on my 50 inch plasma. My brother drops by to watch NFL sometimes & I dont mind because he bets also. If someone calls on NFL sundays, I never answer the phone. I just listen to the messages to make sure its not an emergency. Damn I love football season & its almost here :)

I cannot stand talking sports with people. I find the general public to be idiots. I typically fade them with my wagers.

Much prefer watching games by myself and having the freedom to watch what I want at the time.
