Porcello has struggled to string together quality starts and the Tigers can ill-afford to be giving away games with the division-leading Twins in the midst of one of the toughest stretches of their schedule. When Max Scherzer came back from his demotion, he looked much better and appears to have corrected some of his issues. The Tigers are almost certainly hoping for a similar result for Porcello. Before his demotion, the 21-year-old was 4-7 with a 6.14 ERA and a 1.69 WHIP.
